We have a number of roles available for PIP2 qualified Police Staff Investigators in both the Major Crime Team and the Serious Crime Proactive Teams.
The locations available are:
- Southampton
- Fratton (Portsmouth)
- Basingstoke

The job purpose is to investigate crime and any other investigations at a level deemed appropriate and to assist in the investigation of serious and complex crime.

This service will encompass a wide range of investigative activities including, but not exclusive to victim and witness interviewing; house to house enquiries; securing and reviewing CCTV; premises searches and completion of search records; suspect interviewing including Offences Taken into Consideration (TIC's) and intelligence interviews; file building including disclosure; and full Officer in the Case (OIC) responsibilities including attending court and giving evidence. Workers will also maintain personal responsibility for collection, recording, evaluation, information sharing, review, retention and disposal of information in compliance with codes of practice and Guidance in the Management of Information, information security policy, procedures and legislation.

The post holder will be required to visit various locations in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight during working hours and drive a police vehicle to undertake enquiries. A full driving licence is required and it will be necessary for the post holder to pass a force driver assessment.

The post holder will be asked to work a nine week shift pattern, made up of 3 x 3 weeks. The shift pattern includes days and lates, and working one weekend in three. Every third weekend worked will be late shifts.
Full-time, 37 hour per week, contract role to start on 03-07-17 until 29-09-17 with a possible extension.
