The Offices of the Police and Crime Commissioner for West Mercia and Warwickshire are looking to recruit 2 Senior Practitioners, one for Worcestershire and one for Herefordshire.

About Us -
West Mercia Youth Justice Service operates across Herefordshire, Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin and Worcestershire, covering a youth population of approximately 112,800 (10 to 17 year olds). The service is hosted by the Office of the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner on behalf of the four local authorities and is currently the only Youth Justice Service in such a hosting arrangement nationally. Services are delivered from multi-disciplinary teams aligned to the four local authority areas.

About the role-
An opportunity has arisen for 2 Senior Practitioners for our teams in Worcestershire and Herefordshire. The people appointed will be joining the service at a crucial time following a service re-structure and the implementation of AssetPlus, providing the opportunity to a participate in development work both in terms of the local team, but also in defined areas of policy and practice across the whole service. This post primarily supports and assists the Team Manager in ensuring that practice reflects statutory requirements, national and local standards and other priorities set out in the Local Youth Justice Plan this will include the direct supervision of identified staff in addition to contributing to case work with young people.

About You-
The successful candidates will hold a professional qualification in a Criminal Justice and/or Social Care related area at degree/diploma level or equivalent, previous experience relating to operational management and staff supervision and a working knowledge of the legal, policy and practice context for Youth Justice provision.
