Clinical Unit Manager - Whitchurch, Cardiff
£16.00 - £18.00 per hour (£32,323 - £39,049) + paid breaks + excellent benefits
40 hours per week - days only - largely supernumerary

The facility is designed to meet the needs of a variety of patients and is very modern and fairly newly built; the centre meets the high end care needs you would expect of a large private care provider, primarily they cater to those who are elderly, those with palliative care needs and have a specialist dementia unit on site also.

The site operates a named nurse policy for its nurses and as a unit manager you will oversee the clinical nursing unit by skill mixing, rota planning, managing staff, completing inductions, handling all of your own recruitment and stepping in clinically where required. The role is largely supernumerary with 20 residents to oversee and a large team; you will be the main family liaison contact working closely with the clinical services manager.

You will be assisted by two other unit managers, a clinical auditor, a clinical services manager and the home manager; you will regularly hold one to one supervisions, assess and deliver any training needs you can clinically provide with the aid of a training manager, arrange training needs outside of the unit and act as the main liaison for all family members and friends of residents alongside completing complex admissions and report any rehabilitation needs.

Firstly and foremost you must be a Registered Nurse either RGN/RMN/RNLD with an active NMC pin. You will come from a care home background preferably with experience in a clinical leadership role or running a busy nursing shift. As a unit manager your presence will be on the floor but will include a large amount of supernumerary time.

Candidates should have experience of managing staff, building and developing strong teams alongside a strong service led approach and resident led focus.
