Castle Manufacturing are recruiting for a Process Validation Technician to join a fast growing food manufacturer in the Malton area. Suitable candidates will have worked within a similar role within food manufacturing and be interested in a career in New Product Development (NPD). This role is primarily to manage the technical management of due diligence in relation to product heating and cooling.

The role:

* Delivering a comprehensive due diligence process
* Liaises with NPD / process on new trials, assesses validation implications and delivers validation solutions.
* Determines most appropriate retort / oven programmes for products
* Undertake factory trials in accordance with Campden guidelines
* Assesses retort / oven results and is decision maker on for programme usage and makes recommendations for changes based on results
* Acts as first line decision maker for food safety for any retort / chart/ program issues
* Maintains accurate and up to date records for retort validation work
* Compiles and sends information to customers and HARA packs
* Technical support to Operations in providing Continuous improvement challenges to process and assistance in problem solving issues such as pack leakers
* Programmes the retorts & ovens
* Undertakes heat distribution trials
* Maintains retort programme document & oven documentation
* Maintains a log of validations undertaken. Reviews and retrials as required
* Ensures a sufficient supply of thermal data loggers and is fully accountable for their safe keeping at all times
* Manages calibration of Ellab probes
* Assists in raw materials by obtaining specs from suppliers
* Provides general support to broader technical team

The successful candidate must have outstanding communication skills and have experience in a similar role working within Food production; prior experience of the retort process would be desirable
