My client, a provider of Social Housing based in Somerset, have an immediate requirement for a Housing Development Project Manager on an interim basis.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Development Manager to identify, appraise, and secure new development projects. They will be responsible for leading on the management and delivery of a programme of sites, ensuring they meet parameters as set out in the Business Plan and Development Strategy

Responsibilities:

- Work closely with the Development Manager to ensure that the development programme is delivered on time and within budget.
- Prepare bids for land acquisitions, Section 106 delivery, joint ventures and other opportunities, ensuring compliance with financial appraisal benchmarks, prior to presenting schemes for approval.
- Responsible for the management and delivery of new build and major refurbishment works, working in partnership with private developers and land owners.
- Effectively project manage a portfolio of individual schemes, leading and engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders, contractors, funders, and consultants.
- Prepare and obtain competitively priced tenders for new building & refurbishment work and ensure compliance with Standing Orders with regard to the procurement and engagement of consultants and contractors.
- Undertake contract negotiations, ensuring the organisations interests are protected and schemes are suitable for future funding/charging purposes.
- Proactively manage and monitor contracts, and report on performance and spend throughout the project where necessary
- Identify suitable opportunities for, and then prepare/present funding submissions, ensuring compliance with any grant agreements and audit requirements.

Qualifications:

- GCSE Maths and English grade C or above, or equivalent qualification
- Experience of working with Microsoft Office or other relevant software systems
- Experience of working in a customer focused environment
- HNC in building related discipline
- Proven experience in relation to contract management principles
- A knowledge of managing H/S legislation and compliance data related to construction industry standards
- A good working knowledge of JCT contracts/forms of contract
