A specialist School in South Gloucestershire is recruiting 2 Learning Support Assistants (LSA) to join their team in providing specialist provision to students with emotional, behavioural and mental health issues. This is a part-time temporary position which will potentially develop to full-time hours if desired.

This is a very small EBD School that hosts KS2-KS4 students with SEN statements including (but not exclusively) emotional, behavioural, mental health, ADHD and Asperger syndrome. The vast majority of students are boys and many are physically aggressive and verbally abusive. The school use Team Teach as a de-escalation strategy, therefore recent Team Teach training, and confidence putting this training into practice is a must. You will be joining a passionate team who work hard to make their students feel safe and supported and drive them to succeed.

The successful LSA's will cover sickness and training absences, provide support to the class teacher in lesson delivery and resources, assist in the management of behaviour and engagement of the students, provide 121 support for identified students.

The students respond well to good-humoured and out-going staff members, as well as these qualities the successful LSA must:

- Have experience in a Specialist EBD School or unit
- Be Team Teach trained and be confident to de-escalate and restrain if needed
- Have experience providing 121 support to students with SEN statements
- Be calm and compassionate
- Have a good sense of humour
