Financial Accountant - Birmingham

Oliver William Recruitment are looking for a Financial Accountant to join an international manufacturing company based in Birmingham.

Our client is an international manufacturing company working within the DIY industry and they are looking for a Financial Accountant to take responsibility for preparing, examining, and analysing financial reports and records, preparing and submitting tax documents, and creating effective and cost-efficient financial practices and procedures for business clients

As a Financial Accountant, you must be able to communicate at all levels, including with major shareholders. Applicants must be persuasive, assertive, self-motivated and must have excellent analytical/problem solving skills. You must have experience of dealing with auditors, have an in-depth knowledge of financial regulations and legislation and must be familiar with tax laws and preparation methods.

As a Financial Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintenance of the books and records to ensure integrity and to ensure they accurately reflect the transactions in all legal entities and legal jurisdictions.
  • Performance and review of all key ledger reconciliations in a timely manner.
  • Group consolidation and co-ordinating the preparation of group management accounts.
  • Delivery of completed and consolidated and individual company statutory accounts.
  • Primary contact for group auditors with responsibility for preparation of audit deliverables.
  • Ensure all month end, ½ year end and annual deadlines are met.
  • Implementation of necessary accounting standard changes and adjustments in respect of local accounting standards affecting branch/subsidiary results.
  • Statutory compliance in all regions.
  • Filings completed in a timely manner.
  • Seek further improvements to the current global control environment to further safeguard the assets of the organisation.
  • Ensure segregation of duties are implemented as appropriate for the size of the individual operations.
  • Maintain key relationship with all overseas to ensure an appropriate compliance regime is set up and that resourcing for all accounting and tax is aspirate and fit for purpose.
  • Comply with the Health & Safety responsibilities as defined in the company health and safety policy, and ensure that any specific responsibilities are adequately delegated in their absence.

This is a full-time, permanent position, between the hours of 8:30am - 4:45pm, and the company are looking to pay a salary of between £40,000 - £45,000 per annum plus bonus, with an excellent benefits package.
