PR and Communications Officer

£22,000 - £24,000


Our client a manufacturer and importer in the foods industry is based near to Croydon, Surrey, and is looking for an A-Grade PR and Communications Manager to help spread the word about all their fantastic new products, activity and overall mission. If you have an entrepreneurial attitude and a true passion for PR & Communications, then we want to hear from you!

Duties will include:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing the businesses communications and PR strategy
  • Leading written communications and campaigns across the business
  • Managing press relationships and coverage
  • Developing press materials and releases
  • Working closely with the Marketing, Design and Business Development teams to ensure that the communications and PR strategy supports the overarching business plan
  • Working with junior staff to create and proof written copy, including major campaigns, newsletters, presentations, product labels, press releases, website copy and more
  • Assisting the Marketing Manager in marketing activity and implementing marketing campaigns
  • Joining the team at trade expos
  • Other tasks that come up in the day-to-day running of a fun and agile start-up

About you:

  • At least 1 years PR and Communications experience, ideally within a fast-moving consuming goods (FMCG) sector or small start-up
  • Keen interpersonal skills and an ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds
  • Initiative and enthusiasm
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with demonstrable commercial awareness and sensibility
  • Demonstrable writing, speaking and presentation skills
  • Computer and technical literacy, with an ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite
  • A demonstrable ability to think outside the box, innovate and think creatively
  • University level qualifications desired, but not essential
