An immediate and exciting vacancy for a Production Manager with experience of working in a mechanical manufacturing environment (sheet metal, fabrication, machining). Based in Fareham and salaried at c£45,000.

Design, build and supply of electro-mechanical equipment to a wide range of industries.

Job Description

As a Production / Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for all production outputs, whilst undertaking continuous improvement and incorporating a 'right first time approach'.

You will manage and motivate a multi-skilled team of production engineers / operations staff (welders, fabricators, cnc machinists, assembly technicians) and also sub-contractors when required. In order to achieve this, you will continuously evaluate staff to identify training opportunities. People management is a key focus of this role.

Lean is also another focus of this role, you will be supported in identifying areas of improvement and waste.

Working towards set timescales, you will liaise with other parts of the business and provide information on current status and final delivery of the product.

Person Specification

A proven background as a Production / Manufacturing Manager with experience in a similar production / manufacturing environment. Ideally qualified with a degree in Manufacturing or an Engineering subject, however candidates with vocational/further education or apprentice training and continues career development are also encouraged to apply.

Training and experience in quality, lean or continuous improvement is very beneficial.

You must be able to demonstrate excellent people management skills and proven record of motivating / developing people.

A basic salary of c£45,000 + package including bonus
