Main Responsibilities

* Develop interface software and target hardware between systems to bridge the gap created by delivering early prototypes and development platforms, without the full fidelity of core systems and software that might run on production platforms.

Additional Work

* Present engineering material to internal stakeholders and customers.
* Coordinate with the wider Engineering team to deliver a coherent design/platform.
* Requirements management and production of technical specifications.
* Produce and review engineering drawings, technical reports, meeting minutes and other project documentation.
* Participate in internal and external meetings or design reviews. This may involve:

* Undertaking technical presentations.
* The investigation of trials incidents.
* Attending trials and providing technical advice where required.
* The generation and review of technical reports.

* Ensure that designs produced consider the following:

* Product Safety.

* Design for Manufacture.
Design functional flexibility.

* Design to cost.

* Provide engineering input to project submissions including cost estimating, project plans, and progress reports.
* Perform project activities as allocated by the Project Management team.


* Educated to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate discipline with at least 5 years postgraduate experience within an engineering environment.
* Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
* Be self-motivated and be able to work with the minimum of supervision within a team environment.
* Competent in methodologies and tools such as:

* Structured and Object Orientated Design (including the use of UML/SysML).
* C, C++, NET, DDS middleware.
* Configuration management.
* MilCAN databus systems.
* Microsoft office, including Microsoft Visio.
* Document management system such as TeamCenter.

* Requirements assessment and specification of Commercial off the Shelf hardware in support of software development activities.
* Good awareness of:

* Security implications for technical material.

* Commercial considerations.

* Workplace Health and Safety.

* Remote working will be possible, with a reasonable amount of travel to support engagement with the wider team/product
