£26, 000 to £28, 000 DOE, 28 days holiday
Hours of work will be Monday – Thursday 08.00 – 17.00 and Friday 08.00 – 14.30

The Company

We are working exclusively with our client who manufacture products, predominantly office furniture, ustilising state of the art machinery. They are continuously investing in their future both in machinery and people, taking on apprentices across a wide section of the business. They now seek an experienced Training Advisor with Health and Safety experience.

What is the purpose of the role?

To work closely with the Engineering Support department to enhance the training and compliance of the QMS system across the Manufacturing site for all personnel including apprentices. In addition to ensuring Health & Safety standards are met in all areas if the business.

What will you do?

•To develop and deliver an awareness training program for all employees on health safety and welfare matters including, risk assessments, COSHH, induction, manual handling, PPE, working at heights, stress & fire prevention etc. Ensuring that appropriate training records are maintained.
•Monitor and mentor all engineering apprentices and liaise with both the NVQ assessor and College. Oversee the induction and training skills matrix for all employees.
•To manage and control all environmental issues that may affect the Business.
•Liaising with local schools and colleges, and overseeing all work experience placements.
•To develop, implement, monitor and review Health & Safety strategies, policies and procedures, risk assessments and safe working practises throughout the site.
•To undertake audits and workplace inspections of operations to proactively identify where health & safety management practises can be improved. Prepare reports and statistical data to senior management.

What Skills and Experience will you have?

•Previous training and H&S experience – at least 3 years, IOSH – NEBOSH (Desirable
•Strong verbal and written communication (e.g. report writing, briefing and presentation skills – analysing data and collating information)
•Ability to build and facilitate strong working relationships with management and employees. A calm, patient and assertive individual with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
•A natural ability to mentor and develop young engineers. Provide an “in house” awareness
