Housing Support Worker 

Salary: From £19,029 per annum 
Job Type: Full Time, 12 months Fixed-term Contract 
Hours: 36.25 hours per week 
Location: Sheffield

About the role: 

The Housing and Wellbeing Worker is responsible for providing a service to customers that promotes independence and wellbeing. 

You`ll carry out full assessments of prospective customers and assist customers to claim appropriate benefits at occupancy start date. You`ll work with customers, focusing on their strengths and following individual wellbeing plans to promote independence. You`ll provide advice with completion of housing benefit forms and tenancy management, as well as monitoring and dealing with breaches in occupancy agreements and low level anti-social behaviour. 

Essential skills / experience: 

Successful candidates will have experience of promoting independence and working in a person-centred way. You`ll have a good knowledge of welfare benefits and working with external agencies and will have experience of delivering to policy and procedure. 

You will be a good communicator, both written and verbal. Empathy and a non-judgmental attitude are key to success in this role. You`ll be IT literate, well organised and able to focus on the strengths of customers. 

Desirable skills / experience: 

Experience of housing management and an understanding of relevant legislation are highly desirable. Knowledge of current issues around wellbeing and a driving licence would also stand your application in good stead.
