MPS/UPS, plus TLR 2, £2,640 per annum

Pearson Whiffin Education are currently recruiting a full or part time Lead Teacher of BTEC for a job vacancy with a school in the Tunbridge Wells area. The successful candidate will have experience of delivering BTEC Business and/or Health & Social Care, and will have the desire to develop the coverage and delivery of BTEC subjects across key stage 4 & 5. This is a permanent job vacancy to start in September.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a relevant degree and teaching qualification
  • Demonstrate sound classroom practice and innovation
  • Have a thorough understanding of BTEC qualifications
  • Be flexible and be willing to teach a second subject if required
  • Mark and assess work regularly and to take part in the department's quality assurance procedures
  • Monitor student progress and set targets to ensure expected progress is achieved
  • Work as part of a team, attend regular meetings and provide a major input into departmental development
  • Develop the contribution of BTEC to the School Improvement Plan
  • Participate in the school's weekly extra-curricular programme
  • You will attend monthly staff CPD sessions to share ideas of best practice and outstanding teaching.
  • You will implement and follow the school behaviour management policy.
