Job Title: Assistant Accountant

Location: Bicester

Salary: £26,000 to £28,000pa DOE

An opportunity has arisen in the finance team to join as an Assistant Accountant. This is an awesome opportunity for a talented finance professional to join a really exciting business which has a track record of clear and meritocratic career development for its staff.

Key Responsibilities:

* Full ownership of CAPEX Process, from initial request and authorisation to raising the appropriate PO's, posting the assets through Assets-under-construction (where necessary) then onto the FA Register. Posting all depreciation and any disposals and dilapidations. Full reconciliation to the balance sheet
* Full ownership of all company prepayments including additions and releases as well as providing insight into large and potential missing items.
* Full ownership of light, heat and power journals and accruals.
* Full ownership of Establishment (Rent, Rates, Insurance) journals, accruals and prepayments.
* Full ownership of a new project into PO creation and approval.
* Full ownership of the packaging process of monitoring stock usage and closing stock.
* Payroll journal processing (Weekly and monthly) - While not processing Payroll itself. Providing reports based on the information contained within for senior managers.
* Reconciling PAYE and processing the associated payments through the bank.
* Accruing for weekly paid staff based on prior week's actuals
* Expenses - review on system, posting the journals and accruing those yet unpaid.
* Joint-ownership of bank, and various cash reconciliations.
* Month-end balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts responsible for.
* Various other smaller accruals, journals for smaller depots.
* Ad hoc reporting as required by the FC, GFC, Treasurer, CFO, auditors etc.

Required skills & experience:

* You are likely to be a CIMA or ACCA studier (possibly AAT qualified) - study support offered.
* At least 2 years in a finance capacity.
* You must have strong experience in accruals, pre-payments and fixed assets.
* Some exposure/experience with budgeting and expenses would be well received.
* Strong Excel knowledge would be a distinct advantage.
