As part of a process to realign/improve the way we deliver projects and programmes with the business the RHS are looking for a hands on PMO Manager with significant experience as a senior project manager. Working within the Technology and Editorial Division (TechEd) this role will be responsible for managing an in-house team of Project Managers and Business Analysts as well as working on our own portfolio of projects. The PMO manager will ensure that projects and programmes are resourced adequately and that services are delivered in a consistent and cost effective way.

This is an opportunity for the right candidate to direct the RHS towards best practice governance models but critically this needs to be managed with a strong dose of pragmatism and flexibility. The concept of a dedicated PMO function is relatively new here so this will need someone to develop the capability further, create a definition of function that will meet our requirements going forward and help embed this in the organisation.

Stakeholder engagement skills are key and the ability to work collaboratively, creatively and in matrix management is an essential component here.

Working with the Head of IT and other senior colleagues both inside and outside of TechEd this person will help assess new projects that may come forward and ensure that a clear roadmap and delivery plan is present for projects that come under their division.
