Fantastic job opportunity in Bristol, for an experienced mid level Java Developer/Java Systems Engineer to join a highly successful and innovative systems development team in a highly reputed organisation. My client is dedicated to developing the very best digital and online technologies for their organisation. They are continuing to grow their technology teams to support new and ongoing projects to deliver user friendly systems and seamless administrative frameworks to support their stakeholders and to drive innovation, and leading form the front in their sector.
Your new role
This is a hands-on development role that will also require you to decommission a range of pre-existing systems, rebuild and develop and enhance both bespoke applications as well as packaged solutions. You will help to support and deliver systems improvements to meet the needs of a growing and demanding customer base. It is a broad role helping the organisation to move seamlessly from older legacy systems to newer, fresh technologies. You will liaise with stakeholders, both in It and non IT areas, and support your Integrations Project Lead in provision of quality, well-engineered solutions. You will be using Java and web service technologies for application development and data integration solutions, working in Agile and Waterfall environments. You will join a really talented development team who are really passionate about their work. It is a challenging and varied role, which will enable you to develop professionally and personally.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a relevant computer science or technology degree, or career experience to show strong relevant practical and professional knowledge. You will have experience with Java frameworks and platforms (e.g. J2EE) or similar, enterprise scale applications, and with analysing user requirements and designing information systems that meet those requirements as well as to the relevant IT standards. Knowledge of Spring, Maven, Boot, REST or of introducing Cloud systems such as Azure would also be particularly relevant. As an individual you should be a confident communicator, able to communicate and work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You must be adaptable and flexible, able to work under your own initiative and happy to contribute fully to the team's success
