The RNLI is a charity that has been saving lives at sea for over 190 years. We are in the midst of fast-paced, transformational change that will allow us to save more lives than ever in new and creative ways. Now, we’re looking for a Category Manager to help drive the success of our Supply Chain Transformation programme.

To ensure that our lifesaving strategies are successful, we need excellent marketing solutions that can support all of the charity’s endeavours.

In this important role, you will help us to save more lives than ever by delivering a procurement strategy for our marketing activities and shaping a vital business function that is still evolving.

As the Category Manager, you will build and implement the RNLI’s marketing procurement strategy.

Working with senior stakeholders across the organisation, you will build your understanding of the charity’s current and future needs. You will source and manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring that goods and services are delivered on-time, in a safe and efficient manner.

Additionally, you will:

- Minimise costs whilst maintaining a high level of quality
- Set up the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programme
- Support a wide range of marketing projects
- Analyse and interpret trends, markets and organisational requirements

To be considered, you will need:

- A thorough understanding of procurement strategy development and SMEs
- The ability to analyse data and make recommendations based on evidence
- A CIPS qualification or a degree level qualification

Highly-organised and eager for a new challenge, as the Category Manager, you’ll have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You’ll also be comfortable giving presentations and influencing at a senior level.

Experience of strategic sourcing would be beneficial, as would an MCIPS qualification.
