Residential Support Worker, Residential Children's Home, Hampshire, Southampton

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for Children's Residential Care Workers to work with our Client in the Hampshire area.

These roles will be to work within a Residential Children's Home assisting with children aged 10 - 17.

This home is a 16 bedded facility comprised of two separate residential units.

You will be working on a fixed term contract but there are a variety of hours and shifts available.

You'll start on an hourly rate of around £9 ltd per hour.

More about your role as a Residential Care Worker:

* Our client facilitates mixed gender children aged between 10 - 17.
* You will work in a secure and high quality children's home ensuring physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.
* To participate in the admission and discharge of residents
* To participate in the assessment of the needs of residents
* To contribute to the development of individual care and placement plans for residents
* To administer and record administration of medication
* To assist residents develop life and social skills and age appropriate independence.
* To attend and contribute to meetings relating to the resident
* To be flexible regarding workbase, and to work in other units as is operationally required
* To provide key primary care tasks such as cooking meals, shopping for, and with residents, daily cleaning tasks/laundry
* To manage the behaviour of individual residents and groups of residents, as appropriate. Staff will follow individual behaviour management plans including physical handling strategies such as Team Teach.
* Other duties may also be involved.

* All young people placed here have special needs, and therefore all will undergo a SENCO assessment

* A background of working with Children with challenging behaviour or learning difficulties
* An ability to remain positive and have a positive impact on the lives of young people
* To be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults
* A DBS certificate (Enhanced)
