Financial Systems Integrity Manager/Systems Support £11- £14ph umbrella depending on experience

Our client are a large public sector organisation looking for either a Financial Systems Manager or Support Assistant. The differences in the roles are outlined below;

Financial Systems Manager
The role would be managing a team of people in Northampton and Cambridge so an ability to travel would be required.
* Effectively use detailed knowledge of accounting practice, the financial systems and business processes within Business Systems to provide working paper sign off, comprehensive advice, guidance, solutions and troubleshooting assistance to both technical and non-technical users.
* Work with the Finance Directorate on time tabling of all accounting processes to ensure system reporting complies with their requirements.
* Manage, motivate and develop direct reports within the team, providing support to ensure that priorities are identified, objectives achieved and to enhance the overall level of performance and morale, including recruitment, management and appraisal of the team staff; allocating work and providing advice and guidance to ensure that the deadlines and objectives are met.
* Ensure the provision of second line support for finance units and develop effective support arrangements for users of financial elements of the ERP and financial reporting suites.

Knowledge / Skills
* Good working systems knowledge of an ERP system and experience of using sophisticated general ledger package
* Be aware of and advise on the financial impacts of systems setup and functionality. Maintain a clear and current understanding of how processes and interfaces interact and impact with other modules of the ERP system.
* Initiative and ability to plan and organise time and resources to ensure that deadlines and agreed targets are met.
* Ability to innovate and develop good practices on own initiative.
* Able to make reasoned decisions in a prompt timescale
* Able to analyse complex issues and give reliable professional advice
* Sound experience of financial practices and work, including preparation of budgets and final accounts.

Financial Systems Support
* Complete daily and detailed control account and bank reconciliations. The month end versions should be prepared to an auditable standard and within SLA for LGSS and its customers.
* Provide second line support and advice for users of the ERP and related business systems. Ensure an effective and regular monitoring of the requests queues, taking required actions to keep calls updated in a timely manner and customers informed. Identify any calls requiring colleague attention and notify them for their action as appropriate.

Skills / Experience
Good working knowledge of financial practices and work, including preparation of budgets and final accounts Be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge and experience of working with and improving financial processes and controls Able to work effectively within a team Attention to detail and a zero tolerance approach to financial reconciliation.
