Our client is the leader in Corrosion Prevention and Sealing Technology. Their range of products have been used for over 75 years and comprises of a variety of specialised pipe & structural coatings, marine protection systems, including tapes, brush and spray applied liquid coatings, mastics, primers and sealants based on materials such as petrolatum, butyl rubber bitumen, plastics and epoxy resin. Systems are tailor-made for individual anti-corrosion and sealing problems developed with the realities of an on site application in mind.

They are looking to recruit an entry level Quality and Technical Officer which would suit a recent school leaver/graduate with a background in chemistry. The candidate will report to QA Manager and the initial emphasis will be on QA and as the position progresses, there will be a greater emphasis on development.

Role and Responsibilities
• Development of new products, modification of existing products and the product realisation process
• Validation of new raw materials
• Optimisation and validation of production methods/ materials
• Documenting investigations by use of lab notebook and written lab reports
• Operation of laboratory equipment (including routine checks, scheduling of maintenance, cleaning, etc.)
• Assist in approval, issue and control of Formula and Specifications for each product
• Occasional support for other lab functions, including QC relief
• Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment
• Auditing to ISO 9001/ ISO 14001 standards
• Assisting in the compilation of COSHH assessments
