Residential Opportunity for a Site Assistant to step up!

Southampton with sites across Fareham, Portsmouth and Southampton

£30K + benefits

Highfield Professional Solutions are working with a local Housing Developer who are looking for a Site Manager to work on projects across the South of Hampshire.

The projects range from 2 - 10 units

My client is a family ran business who have a firm history of supplying high quality service to the client but also to their employees.

You will be from a trades back ground and have worked your way up.

Your duties will be varied, and no day will ever be the same, but they will include the following:

* Monitor construction working programme with Contracts Manager on a weekly basis
* Study drawings and be aware of forecast costs
* Issue requisition
* Ensure effective communication with sub-contractors
* Maintain efficiency and high standards
* Complete on time or ahead of time
* Arrange and ensure meetings with quantity surveyors regularly throughout contract
* Arrange and attend internal progress meetings
* Liaise with Quantity Surveyor and sub-contractors to discuss possible damages and time loss immediately as they arise
* Produce correspondence in conjunction with Quantity Surveyor and Contracts Manager including maintaining filing system
* Monitor and review quality assurance
* Review and manage Health & Safety and ensure company Health & Safety procedures adhered to.
* Make requisitions to buyer
* Discuss site issues and progress with Contract Manager
* Minimise by monitoring and reviewing site wastage, materials, time, labour and plant
* Maintain morale on site by communicating regularly with all site operatives by discussing and reviewing issues and sharing good practice
* Ensure a safe working environment at all times
* Ensure good public relations with neighbours and the public
* Arrange plant and labour requirements
* Ensure subcontractors project requirements are met
* Check material measurement and take offs from drawings including checking drawing practicality
* Direct dealing with sub-contractors from start to finish
* Attend pre-start meetings with on-site operatives
* Deliver induction to site operatives
* Monitor subcontract and site operatives requirements and liaise accordingly when they are no longer required
* Delegate and check material to site as ordered
* Communicate 4 week rolling programme regularly with site operatives
* Discuss and review site operatives and subcontractors tasks
* Preparing site for air test in accordance with Building Regulations
* Check and sign for materials delivered to site

For you to be successful in this diverse role, you will need to possess the following;

* Experience of working on site at an assistant level
* Basic e-mail and Word knowledge
* First Aid Certificate desirable but not essential
* Scaffolding certificate
* Assertive and strong persuasion skills
* Strong time management skills
* Able to appreciate other people's ways, attributes and attitudes and liaise with them in an appropriate manner
