CDS Recruitment are working with our client who are looking to recruit an NDT Technician on an ongoing temporary basis. Duties and responsibilities are as follows:-

Highlight any hazards or areas of improvement surrounding health and safety to the relevant personnel.

* Follow all policies, process flows and standard operating procedures in respect to Health, Safety, Quality and Environment.

* Visual inspection of forgings throughout production and prior to despatch

* Magnetic Particle Inspection of forgings during the production process including the dressing of defects and re-inspection of parts

* Periodic checks of the Magnetic Particle Inspection equipment to ensure it is operating correctly and the recording of results

* Changing of consumables used within the Magnetic Particle Inspection process

* Brinell Hardness Testing of parts during the production process and the recording of results

* Ensure that any defects are reported to both Quality Department and Forge Supervisor

* Responsible for escalating non-conformances to management, using the database

* Maintain Jobshop and QA system documentation

* Ensure good housekeeping practices are maintained including Health & Safety and Environment issues

* Maintain the 6S standards with work area

* Ensure compliance with the company's environmental requirements.

* Ensure compliance with the company's integrated management system requirements.

* To carry out any other duty, for which you are suitably competent, as deemed necessary by the team leader, supervisor or manager.

Requirements to reach effective performance

Job related skills, knowledge and general attainment equivalent to (essential):

* Ability to read drawings

* Good attention to detail

* Qualified to PCN Level 2 in Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)

* Qualified to PCN Level 2 in Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI)

* Experience in Brinell Hardness Testing

* Ability to use measuring equipment including digital height guage, digital callipers, tape measures and various other guages


* Experience working within a manufacturing environment

* Qualified to PCN Level 2 in Ultrasonic Testing (UT)

* Knowledge in MS Packages e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook.

* FLT license

* Continuous improvement ways of working - 6S's / 'Lean' methodology

* Slinging License ie the ability to use an overhead crane

Time required in job to reach effective performance:
