Electrical Maintenance and Project Foreman
Doncaster
£35,000 per annum
Major Technical are working in partnership with a leading UK Manufacturer to recruit an Electrical Maintenance and Project Foreman in Doncaster.
Summary:

The Electrical Maintenance and Projects Foreman will play a key role in carrying out PPM's and responding to reactive maintenance across a large site. You will be the foreman of the engineering team reporting into the Plant Director.

You must be flexible in your approach to work. You must be able to respond to a variety of tasks on various equipment using your initiative and proactive attitude, whilst keeping a high standard of housekeeping.

You will seek out and implement improvements to reduce the level of breakdowns experienced, in line with the company's continuous improvement methodologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Coach and ensure that all engineers have clear defined guidelines to perform their roles; this includes sound engineering systems.
- Make the most effective use of labour resource and maintain appropriate staffing levels, optimising utilisation of people deployment.
- Carrying out Reactive and Planned Preventative Maintenance on site.
- Respond to breakdowns quickly and effectively across site by maintaining a strong focus on first time fix and quality of work.
- Plan and co-ordinate schedules of preventative maintenance for equipment, machinery, tools and/or buildings.
- Review manufacturer` service manuals, own establishment`s usage schedules, and records of maintenance problems to determine optimum frequency of preventative maintenance.
- Study production and operations schedules and confer with other staff and with maintenance supervisors to determine when planned maintenance will least interfere with operation of site.
- Involvement in projects across site: installing new machinery, decreasing down time to assist with production improvements, projects and reconfigurations as required.
- Ensure that all-electrical installation and maintenance of production plant, equipment, buildings and services is achieved to best practice standards.
- Maintains records of planned completed maintenance and ensuring the correct completion of appropriate documentation and reporting.
- Materials; Ensure the correct spares are stocked through the stores management team enabling fast effective repairs but balanced with a need to maintain minimum stock value and control expenditure
- Budgetary controls; Must be exacting with a plan in place to deliver year on year savings
- Estimate costs of personnel, parts and supplies to be used during scheduled maintenance.
- Delivery through machine minders improved engineering start-up/response times/PPM.
- Efficiency; Each production line is to be evaluated regularly, identifying engineering that will increase overall efficiency, also to permit operators to use the equipment more effectively.
- Ensure engineering solutions are put in place to affect a permanent fix. Effectively communicate to the Operations Manager that the performance of the department is positively contributing to the business needs.
- Ensure all procedures relating to Health and Safety are employed by all engineering personnel and contractors and to ensure that this done by auditing process and procedures.

Experience Required:

- Qualified to HND/ONC in Electrical Engineering.
- Electrical / Mechanical apprenticeship.
- Good PLC knowledge in programming, fault finding and diagnosis.
- 16th/17th Wiring Edition Regulations.
- Experience in pneumatics and hydraulics.

Other:

- Work is normally performed in a typical shop floor work environment.
- Physical effort required the ability to lift items of 12 Kg`s.
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk
