Salary: up to £18,000 plus annual bonus

Hours: 39.5 hours per week

Location: York (Upper Poppleton) – free on-site parking available

Do you have a high attention to detail? Do you have an interest in Procurement and Supply Chain? Looking to start a career in Buying?

We are looking for a Buying Assistant to provide administration support to our Buying Team. You will provide the administration required to raise purchase orders, prepare reports, manage the sample collections in line with the critical path, and maintain the seasonal sample range for the allocated category buyer.

Responsibilities include:

Ordering and collating samples for catalogue photo shoot requirements.

Supporting the Buyer on the overall delivery of a profitable and commercial range.

Work effectively with the Buyer and Suppliers to proactively align critical path to achieve the Buying strategy. 

You will manage the sample room and processing the samples in a timely manner, including checking initial samples, assisting the Buyer with fit testing samples, checking and processing production samples.

Job Requirements

Good commercial thinking - supporting the Buyer to develop and plan the range: monitoring and discussing sales reactions with the Buyer, attend product meetings focusing on key areas to drive the range forward.

Good verbal and written communicator - Ensures samples are managed effectively, liaising with suppliers from initial sample briefing through to delivery.

Data accuracy when raising Buying Forms onto the Buying System (BPM)                       

Good organisation skills  - ability to prioritise

Good understanding of Excel

Good computer skills including use of Microsoft packages especially Outlook.

Team Player

Any experience of Purchasing/CIPS would be beneficial although not a requirement
