Salary: £7.50 - £8.50 / hour
Area: New Eltham and surrounding Areas

Home Care Assistants required for ongoing care assignments in New Eltham and surrounding areas. These roles are ongoing and are based within the community.

We offer person centered support to elderly residents, many of whom suffer dementia or mild mental health issues. You must be an experienced care assistant or support worker who is happy to deliver personal care, alongside a range of duties such as assisting with preparing meals, laundry, light household tasks, accompanying in the community on appointments and general daily activities.

It is preferable that you have experience of working with elderly service users and it is beneficial if you have a good understanding of dementia care.
Some of the service users also have physical or learning disabilities, and can display challenging behaviour. Personal care will be required so please do not apply if you are not prepared to undertake personal care, including washing and dressing.

If you are an experienced care worker / care assistant / support worker and enjoy supporting elderly clients with dementia, mild to moderate mental health and have a person centered approach to your care work, we would like to hear from you.

* MUST have an NVQ Level 2 or similar in Health & Social Care
* Have a good level of English (written & verbal)
* MUST be happy to provide personal care
* MUST be flexible and able to work a shift pattern
* MUST hold a DBS registered on the update service or willing to apply for a new one

If you have a DBS that is registered with the online update service, we can offer you work more quickly. You must be able to provide 5 years’ references and either have all mandatory training in date, or be prepared to complete this prior to starting your assignment.
