Support Worker (Part Time)

Our client is a day care provision for adults with profound and multiple learning and physical disabilities and complex health needs. They are currently looking to recruit Support Workers to work alongside their committed team of staff and volunteers, to support and enable the individuals.

Candidate Requirements:
- NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years experience working with vulnerable adults
- Willingness to be flexible and work evenings and weekends
- Good organisational skills and ability to work on own initiative
- Good time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Well motivated and enthusiastic
- Calm, adaptable and flexible approach
- Presentable appearance
- Reliable and conscientious

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide a comprehensive day service for adults with learning disabilities/complex needs & assist in the assessment of individuals
- Offer stimulating needs based support & development along with safe leisure opportunities & provide full support
- Work with individuals to identify their needs & choices for purposeful daytime activities
- Identify opportunities available for the individual & offer support to achieve/maintain involvement in their chosen activity
- Assist individuals with personal needs including mealtime support and personal care
- Administer medication as required & take responsibility for accurate storing & recording of medication
- Contribute to organisational developments as appropriate including developments based on the personalisation agenda

The successful candidate will undertake such other duties and responsibilities as may be determined from time to time by the management group, in agreement with the post holder.

Part time role is 22 1/2 hours per week. Salary scale is £8.81-£9.91 per hour after successful probationary period (pro-rata). Annual leave-4 weeks and statutory Bank Holidays (pro rata).
