We are currently recruiting for a Music Teacher to join the team in September. The school is an all Girls Roman Catholic independent school which is privately funded. The Catholic religion is implement this within the lessons which has helped with the behaviour and focus of the Girls. The school runs from key stage 3 to key stage 5 and assist the students in university entrance. This school is a single sex school (girls). The right teacher does not have to have experience in an all girls school however will need to be able to fully assist with the development of the needs of girls, academically, physically and emotionally.

The school is very supportive and have a great community feel, you will have support by the head of department but also the head teacher who believes that each and every staffs voice is important.

With a large car park, close links to the Northern Line and local buses you are sure to find a easy route to work. The school is near to the main high street but it set back in a grand listed building with beautiful green surroundings.

You would be required to teach up to KS5 also be willing to support and create extra-curricular practice sessions for instrumental and vocal students and pupils.

Main duties:
• Be an effective class teacher, planning and delivering high quality lessons.
• Contribute to Faculty planning, and Faculty documentation, as required by the Head of Faculty.
• Work in collaboration with St Martha’s programme of support for pupils with different
learning needs (SEND, EAL,), ensuring that the needs of every student are met.
• Keep attendance records for each student in line with school policy.
• Record, monitor and evaluate the progress of each student.
• Mark written work within a reasonable time span, providing both constructive oral and
written feedback and clear learning targets.
• Complete high quality student formal reports to parents in line with school policy.
• Set students high standards in the content and presentation of their work and to regularly
review students’ files.

• Qualified to degree level and above
• Qualified to teach and work in the UK.

Experience
• Experience of raising attainment in a challenging environment
• Experience of reflecting on and improving teaching practice to increase student achievement
• Evidence of continually improving the teaching and learning of their subject though schemes of
work and extra-curricular activities.

Knowledge
• Up to date knowledge in the curriculum area
• Understanding of the strategies needed to establish consistently high aspirations and
standards of results and behaviour.
Leadership
• Effective team worker and leader
