Key Tasks:

Food preparation

To prepare and cook food in accordance with the daily menu.

To assist in consulting residents and staff on menus.
To assist with special catering functions as and when required.
To be responsible for ensuring the stock and catering area is properly secure on leaving site.

Health & Safety in the Kitchen

To ensure at all times due regard to Food Hygiene/Health and Safety Regulations.
To use kitchen equipment and to clean and store the same in accordance with instructions and to liaise with Repairs regarding the repairs/servicing thereof.
To plan for future equipment needs and regular maintenance of the kitchen.
To ensure that the kitchen areas are kept in a clean and tidy order in order to comply with Food Hygiene regulations.
To ensure that chemicals/detergents and general cleaning materials are used correctly and stored in accordance with instructions and COSHH regulations.
To report to the Chef and Catering Manager any broken or faulty equipment for repair
