Marketing Manager, Events, West London, £40k + car allowance & benefits.

This is an excellent chance to join a FTSE 100 company and market leading media and events business.

This role will work on 2 market leading travel events and have a focus on data driven activities, registration, analysis and the development and implementation of the networking features. The role manages 2 marketing staff who are be responsible for the execution and delivery of the visitor and exhibitor promotional campaigns.

Key responsibilities:


  • Develops marketing strategies with the MM to meet overall event objectives
  • Drive event strategy with the MM, Event Director & Portfolio Head of Marketing
  • Production of event strategic reports specifically in relation to information management, data development & analytics
  • Drive development of Buyer, networking and matchmaking programmes
  • Presentation of ideas back to senior management teams

Planning Campaign Management & Implementation

  • Manages, develops and implements all marketing initiatives with specific focus on buyer programmes

Information Analysis

  • Main responsibility for data management within the team, ensuring our registration collection points are consistent and accurate. Monitor and development of buyer qualification systems and matchmaking system capabilities
  • Analysis and reporting of pre-registration and communication within the wider team
  • Responsible for all research and analysis (set up of pre and post event research campaigns)
  • Work with wide team to on campaign tracking and analysis
  • Evaluates customer research, market conditions, and competitor data to produce effective and engaging marketing plans. Identify gaps and new market sectors to develop
  • Has full understanding of the industry in which they operate. Continues to develop market knowledge


  • Excellent copywriting skills across all marketing disciplines and ability to source content for communication
  • Develop communications for buyer programmes including speed networking & matchmaking
  • Communication across all disciplines (marketing, digital, conference, operations, PR) to ensure market intelligence is shared in order to maximise on potential opportunities

Internal/External relationships

  • Main point of contact & negotiator for external registration company and data providers/analysts
  • Main point of contact for internal information management team
  • Main point of contact for data research agencies
  • Attend competitive events (locally and globally)
  • Proactively establishing and maintaining effective working internal and external relationships with all support departments, industry partners, trade associations and our advisory panels - both locally and globally
  • Ensures customer needs are met by monitoring progress of customer requests, queries and questions.
  • Translates suggestions for improvements into practical actions

Budget Management

  • develop an annual marketing budget and deliver marketing activities on time and within budget. Ability to look for cost saving if and when required without compromising overall marketing campaign

Team management

  • Management and development of team. Sets performance and learning objectives for Marketing Executive & Marketing Assistant. Motivates individuals through praise, delegation, feedback, support and coaching and tackles performance issues. Identifies and plans training and development activities for ME and Co-ordinator. Supports team members in planning career development and long term personal goals
  • Management of temporary staff, including speed networking teams
