The support you will receive during and after your training, is second to none. The training course which involves both home study and trainer led sessions will allow you to complete assessments and write reports on behalf of the Department for Works and Pensions. Support is on-going and will allow you to become a proficient and qualified Disability Analyst.

Due to the broad range of conditions and disabilities you will encounter, each day will be different and varied, which will enhance and develop your existing clinical knowledge in a way no other healthcare role allows. Dependent on the needs of the individual, the assessments will either take place in a centre or in the individual’s home.

You will be conducting individualised assessments, using your existing and newly acquired skills to determine how a condition/disability is impacting on their ability to perform activities of daily living whilst also recognising that individuals are affected in different ways and no two people are the same. The primary focus being on how they are affected in their daily life rather than the condition itself.

Following the assessment and after completing either a physical and/or mental state examination, you will then write a detailed, impartial report for the Department for Work and Pensions, who make the decisions regarding the entitlement to the benefit.

While the role is autonomous, you will have the excellent benefit of being able to share knowledge with a team which will comprise of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, Paramedics and nurses from the fields of mental health, general and learning disabilities.

The role of a Disability Analyst, is an autonomous one and one which is recognised by the NMC and HCPC, and your revalidation needs will be met completely by Atos.

Requirements:

  • Driving Licence 2 years of PQE Registered with NMC or HCPC
  • Ability to commit to 12 days of residential training that can be based anywhere in the UK
  • 2 years post qualification experience
