MEP Design/Package Manager (Major Developer) London £60K +

The Company:

Human Capital Solutions are working in partnership with a major London property developer that is seeking to recruit an MEP Design/Package Manager to manage the MEP package on a signature commercial project.

Widely regarded as one of the top developers in London at present, working on a development portfolio of over £1billion. They have built up their reputation over the last 30 years and continue to add high quality developments to their portfolio.

Job Purpose:

Managing the MEP package from "Stage D" design stage, throughout design development, tendering, contract award, implementation, commissioning to handover.

The Project:

£50 million is being spent on the construction of a 10 storey commercial building. The scheme is being delivered to Cat A with a high end front of house reception/entrance lobby showcasing the building.

  • Main fit out areas are for the front of house and core areas
  • Roughly 2 year build programme
  • No Resi in this part
  • Stage D through to completion
  • Complete autonomy in terms of the MEP

The Role:

Formal comment and approval on all consultant design info prep from 'Preliminary' issue to 'Tender', through to 'Construction' and eventually to 'As-Built'

Formal comment and policing of Trade Contractors comments on all Trade Contractor design info prep from 'for approval' issue to 'Construction' issue for MEP works.

Drive the process of establishing a robust installation programme, commissioning strategy, and cause and effect strategy.

Establish key deliverables in the MEP design and ensure these are identified in the scope and on the programme.

Comment on the MEP deliverables in the overall project programme.

Closing out RFI.

Chair design team meetings to monitor progress, give guidance and direction on design economy and discuss key design issues.

Coordinate the design and deliverables to achieve production targets and key milestones.

Skills and experience required:

  • Experience of MEP system in commercial buildings
  • On site experience of delivering the packages listed above.
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
