Catering Supervisor

Our client is recruiting for a Catering Supervisor to work across multiple London-based prisons to ensure the smooth running of the catering service.

Our client is one of the UK's leading children's charities, firmly supported by Christian beliefs and values, helping to support disadvantaged children and their families through delivering projects to support children, young people, their families and communities to find long-lasting solutions to the challenges they face.

They manage Prisoner Visitor Centres and Visits Halls within prisons and are looking for someone who can ensure a consistently high level of refreshment services.

Catering Supervisor – The Role

You will have one base site but will be required to work across multiple sites. You will be providing both branded, ready-made and prepared on site products to customers. Your duties will include:

  • Supporting and supervising existing Catering Workers and Volunteers
  • Ensure accurate and efficient process are in place
  • Be the central point of contact for catering work
  • Ensure catering deadlines are met regarding stock checks
  • Ensure catering revenue banking is adequate
  • Ensure stock is ordered, delivered and checked
  • Cash handling
  • Provide specialist catering advice and support to the management team
  • Adhere to legislative requirements 100%
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Be 100% compliant with organisation audits and internal reporting requirements
  • Ensure the catering service is within the agreed SLA
  • Support the Operations Manager in recruiting new staff and volunteers as required

Catering Supervisor – The Ideal Candidate

This will be very much a hands-off, supervisory role – our client is really looking for someone who thrives at creating and administering precise processes and who has a real eye for numbers and ensuring accurate cash management. In essence, they are looking for someone who is:

  • Process orientated
  • Excellent cash management
  • Experienced in line management
  • Able and willing to work across multiple sites
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Knowledge of catering suppliers of food and drink
  • An understanding of the specific requirements for working within a high security setting
  • Proficient IT skills in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Essential that you are able to successfully pass Ministry of Justice vetting
