My client is a well-established research institution possessing one the most advanced scientific facilities in the world, known for keeping the UK in the limelight for its scientific research. With plans to expand its engineering group, the company seek a PLC Engineer to join their mission in delivering machine protection systems and PLC based technical solutions across the business.

As the new PLC Engineer you will report into a Senior Technician, supporting them with complete life cycle support, working with customer groups to bring out requirements, designing PLC solutions, developing the software, commissioning and providing operational support.

The successful PLC Engineer will operate days only, 37 hours a week, Mon to Fri

Mon to Fri – 09:00 am to 5:00 pm (company operate to “flexitime”)

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Possess a recognised qualification HND / HNC in Electronic Engineering.
• Strong ability solving technical problems and evaluating alternative courses of actions.
• Good ability fault finding of interlocks and subsystems.
• Demonstrate good ability operating self-sufficiently
• Knowledge of communication protocols – RS232/ 442/ 485 (desirable)
