Our client is recruiting for an Investigative Officer to work within the Major Crime based in North Yorkshire.

The main purpose of the role is to undertake any tasks determined by the Senior Investigating Officer
in relation to the investigation of any homicide, major crime, serious crime, and tasks in connection with the successful prosecution of offenders.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• PIP Accreditation Level 2 or if no accreditation is possessed there would be an expectation that the post holder would work towards this
• Attested and passed an Exhibits / Disclosure course (or equivalent)
• Knowledge in the use and application of computer systems and the extraction of information from databases
• Post holders must have prior knowledge, skills and experience as an investigator
• Ability to travel round the force area.
• Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to communicate difficult message with tact, sensitivity and authority

Our client is the territorial police force covering the non-metropolitan county of North Yorkshire and the unitary authority of York in northern England. The force covers England's largest county and comprises three area command units. As of March 2013 the force had a strength of 1,370 police officers, 158 Special Constables, 173 PCSOs and 1,095 police staff.

Pay Rate: £11.40ph PAYE or £13.96ph LTD
Hours: Full time
Working location: York
Duration: Up to 3 months with the possibility of extension
