Fibre Laser Engineer – Laser – Sussex – IM259

Job Outline:

A leading developer of Fibre Laser systems is now looking for a Fibre Laser Engineer to join their growing team.

Key responsibilities will include the modelling, design, development, construction, and test of Fibre Lasers.

Working closely with R&D, you will transfer the products from R&D to manufacturing, this will include Design, Build, Test and Documentation for introducing new products into production.

You will be involved in all stages of design, development and production of the new products.

You will document design, test fixtures, test procedures and train staff in the use of test fixtures.

You will lead and direct manufacturing staff in the most effective mode of assembly.

You will also work with key suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure all components meet customer requirements.

There will be opportunities to work directly with customers and suppliers to understand their needs.

Working through the full product life cycle from concept to final delivery and all stages in the production process, you will be responsible for all stages of development for the Fibre Lasers.

Qualifications:

Ideally you will be qualified to a minimum of Degree-level in Engineering, Phyiscs or a relevant discipline, and have worked with Fibre Lasers.

Experience:

You will have a proven track record in the development of Fibre Lasers, ideally including MOPA design.

Ideally you will be familiar with optical design software such as Zemax or TracePro.

You should be familiar with some or all of the following: pulsed switched mode lasers; thermos-optical modelling; fibre amplifier modelling; non-linear optical design; ultrafast fibre lasers; and high power fibre systems.
