A new job for a registered nurse deputy manager has arisen in Halifax, your main duties would be to work closely with the management team to ensure standards of care and support are consistent with all relevant legislation and you should be able to deputise in the absence of the manager. About the client

Our client is a charity based organisation in Halifax. The manager has worked at the service for many years is very supportive of her staff. The client is a care home with nursing based in Halifax, specialising in provision for adults with physical disabilities. The service offers 25 places within a versatile living environment; they offer long-term care, respite and day care. The client also has a team of activities staff along with volunteers and their job is to organise activities and social events so the service users feel engaged, gaining enjoyment and interaction, giving them the opportunity and support to live independently, to contribute and participate fully in society.

Purpose of the Job

You will be responsible for maintaining professional standards of care and nursing available to residents within the home. You will work alongside residents and staff to enable all individuals to attain their full potential and maximise the options available to them. You will support the service manager in the day to day operation of the service, deputising as directed in their absence and you will be responsible for the direct supervision of the care staff on duty, you will help develop people as we will support you in your development and help you achieve your career goals.

Essential person criteria

You will be an effective communicator and be confident in leading a team, accepting responsibility and directing others. Recognised qualification in nursing - Level 1 Registered Nurse, with post registration experience and excellent clinical skills. Previous experience of working with disabled and/or physical disabilities. You will be happy to work shifts and some weekends. You will work towards or have obtained a management qualification (NVQ 3 or equivalent), to be able to demonstrate post qualification learning, to demonstrate a willingness for further training and development. You should be prepared to participate in an on-call rota and be willing to attend meetings, training sessions which could be off-site and outside of normal working hours. You should have a strong work ethic and demonstrate company values.

Salary and benefits

The working hours will be 37.5 hours per week and this will include three supernumerary shifts and two nursing shifts per week.

The salary is £16.50 per hour plus enhancements for weekends.
