R13 recruitment are currently supporting one of the UK’s leading independent scientific organisations based on the outskirts of Norwich in their search for a Drug Team Leader. Working within the companies Drug Testing department, you will be responsible for the day to day management of the drugs laboratory and will perform analytical testing and other laboratory duties.

Duties to include:
* Day to day management of the Drug Testing team.
* Recognising potential staff training opportunities and carrying these out as appropriate.
* Responsible for all equipment in the Drug Testing laboratory, equipment records and calibration.
* Maintenance and troubleshooting a range of analytical testing equipment including LCMSMS and GCMSMS.
* Writing standard operating procedures.
* Participating in method development and validation.
* Preparation of reagents and consumables for laboratory use.
* Management of testing proficiency test samples.
* Processing samples for the conformation of tests, feeding this back to clients.
* Report writing and checking.
* Reviewing critical and non-critical suppliers.
* Quality control including review and management of non-conformities.
* Ensuring compliance with ISO and relevant guidelines.
* Ad-hoc duties as required.

You will have/be:
* A degree level or equivalent qualification in a relevant science subject.
* Excellent practical competency.
* Experience of working in a scientific commercial laboratory environment.
* Working knowledge of quality management systems.
* Experience of validation and development.
* Experience of working in accordance with ISO17025 or equivalent.
* Experience of using LCMSMS and GCMSMS techniques.
* Trained at writing Expert Witness Reports for drug testing.
* Strong Team Leader skills including ability to train and mentor others.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* Excellent organisational skills coupled with the ability to effectively prioritise workload.
* Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
* Flexible and innovative approach to work.

This is a full time permanent opportunity working Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5.30pm. Offered salary of £28,000 - £34,000 DOE. Benefits include on-site parking, on-site amenities, attractive benefits package and supportive workplace culture.
