My client, a prestigious vehicle manufacturer based in Swindon is currently looking for two Machining Engineers to join them until the end of April 2019. Working within a team of 12, reporting into the Machining Engineering Manager your role will be to support the installation of the new model within their engine plant facility. Within this role you will have direct influence and involvement in overseeing the smooth and efficient running of a world class engine plant where my client produces petrol and diesel combustion engines. This role may require occasional travel within Europe for up to two weeks at a time. You will be expected to be flexible to accommodate the business needs.

Main responsibilities:

* Setting up cutting tool and parameters, including the use of CNC machines
* Understanding and interpreting CMM / Quality Data
* Understanding of engine performance characteristics
* Installing machining processes
* Supervising contractors during equipment installation and advising during design reviews
* Understanding quality characteristics for machine products
* Working throughout the project lifecycle
* Driving continuous improvements

To be considered for this role you should have:

* HNC in Mechanical/Process Engineering
* Project lifecycle knowledge
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and mechanical assemblies
* Knowledge of CNC G Code /programming
* Knowledge of programming 3&4 axis CNC machining centres
* Understanding of tooling materials (Cutting Tooling)
* Knowledge of tooling cutting parameters
* SAP knowledge
* Ideally have an automotive background or worked in mass production environment
* Experience is the use of CAD
