The Role:

The Service Controller role is a pivotal role in our Service Department at our Farnham HO. It involves extensive customer liaison to quickly resolve customer situations. You will receive calls from customers and must then ensure that a relevant engineer is sent to service/ fix the JCB plant equipment on our customer's site.


To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, be an effective team player, can prioritise and focus on answering incoming calls quickly and effectively. Being able to work under pressure, as well as a positive can-do attitude is essential.

Similar work experience ideally in the Construction industry would be extremely useful.

Key Responsibilities:

-To monitor engineer availability
-To establish correct and full details of all call outs
-To can mobilise the relevant engineer
-To keep customers informed when unable to meet the agreed timescales and ensure engineers attend as soon as possible.
-To receive, record and relay relevant information to all parties
-Being the point of contact for any problems or enquiries
-Contributing effectively to administration processes
-Dealing with all telephone calls in a polite and professional manner and having the ability to deal with conflict while remaining diplomatic.
-Identify, facilitate and share improvement opportunities in business process
-Help maintain an open working environment through sharing information, thoughts and ideas that promote team working both within the department and wider organisations.
-Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers
-To always present a professional image
-Take responsibility for health and safety of self and colleagues in line with the company health and safety policy.
