Are you tired of working for a contractor/developer and can't see a promotion on the horizon? Do you have experience of large city centre commercial and retail buildings? Do you have European experience? Are you looking at a salary up to £140,000 plus package? If so please read on.

I am looking for a Senior Design Director or Design Lead to work for one of the largest developers in the UK. The role will involve a lot of travelling but will primarily be based in the clients central London office.

They are a developer that self deliver their own projects so the successful candidate will ideally have experience of working for a contractor or a similar developer.

The role itself is a strategic position, they are looking for somebody to come on board and manage existing Design Managers in London and Europe. This role is also to get involved in very early stages of a project, giving technical advice and working with the Development Managers to look at schemes that they are considering to buy and advising on what to build, give a financial guide and look at what could be built.

This position will be reporting into a Board Member and will be asked to look at recruitment and also manage the career growth and plans for existing Design Managers.

Other Duties will include:

* Manage the relationship with the in designer to look at proposed solutions in order that they are in line with the clients brief

* Provide support and guidance to the on site construction teams

* Manage the inputs and outputs during concept design stages and scheme design stages

* Collect and submit for approval of all stages of project documentation

* Co-create architecture and design of a project

* Quality control of product design

* Provide commercial and technical advice to potential tenants

The ideal candidate would have a background in Architecture, Project Management or a Senior Development Manager and have over 8 years experience. They must have European experience, working ideally on large scale commercial schemes. Be degree qualified and have a knowledge of how a developer works.

This company are very forward thinking and have big plans to be the leading developer in the UK and Europe. All of their offices are centrally located and they are currently working on prime landmark ground breaking construction projects in London and Europe.
