Commercial Assistant

Salary up to £24,000


I am currently recruiting for a Commercial Assistant on behalf of one of the UK's fastest growing commercial build contractors, who have achieved a high level of financial growth in the past year. This contractor has a full workbook for the upcoming year within the Yorkshire region alone and they are looking to increase turnover to £145M this financial year. The successful candidate will be offered a clear progression path into either an Estimating or Quantity Surveying role.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assisting the proposals team to evaluate risk and opportunity during tender preparation.
* Attend post tender and pre-contract meetings.
* Attend internal and external commercial review meetings.
* Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
* Manage the commercial aspects of subcontract accounts from procurement to interim and final account agreement.
* Work closely with the Commercial Director to make sure the commercial team runs smoothly
* Preparation of / assistance with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation works.
* Working with the commercial and operational teams to strive for continuous improvement

Experience and Qualifications:

* Holder of a Full UK Drivers Licence
* Educated to Degree level, or equivalent experience
* Confident IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Office in particular Excel
* Excellent Communication skills both written and verbally
* Must be an excellent organiser with proven time management skills
* Must be flexible in hours of work and travel
