Materials Controller

Based: Middleton, Manchester

Basic Salary: £17,000 - £21,000 DOE + Benefits Package

My client is a leading SME manufacturer who specialise in complex forming and welding of high temperature metals. Due to demanding growth they now have an immediate vacancy for a Materials/Stock Controller.

The Role:

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Materials Controller will be responsible and accountable for the control and handling of goods from receipt to despatch.

Key responsibilities
•Receiving of all goods including raw materials
•Unloading and supervision of unloading goods from delivery vehicles
•Goods inwards inspection and checking of supplier certificates of conformity
•Stock management of raw materials, finished goods and consumables using MRP system
•Packing and preparing delivery of goods to customers and subcontractors
•Fulfilment of Bill of Materials for production
•Handling and movement of goods throughout the factory
•Raising required paperwork including certificates of conformity and delivery notes
•Follow procedures, data entry and record keeping
•Housekeeping within stores

The above responsibilities above are not exhaustive and may vary. The Materials/Stock Controller will undertake other duties relevant to the nature, level and scope of the position.


Knowledge and qualifications

•5 GCSEs at grades A*-C, including mathematics
•Understanding of the importance of Health & Safety


• Experience of management systems especially ISO 9001 is desirable.
• Experience in the aerospace or engineering industry is desirable.
• Fork Truck License is desirable
