Our client were formed in 2010 as a partnership, to provide housing support to people living in East Surrey predominantly in the Reigate and Banstead area although they also work in Mole Valley, Epsom & Ewell, and Tandridge. Their services are available to single people, couples and families from all communities, including people with mental health, alcohol or drug problems.

They’re currently looking for a customer focused individual to take on the challenging yet rewarding post of Housing Support Officer. The post holder will provide visiting support to customers of the service who require housing related support to maintain and manage their accommodation or to find a home.

You’ll assist their service users to set up their own homes providing advice on matters such as everyday financial requirements, health and wellbeing, and their general rights and responsibilities. You’ll liaise closely with relevant agencies, attend meetings where required and access local community organisations and resources.

To succeed in this post, you’ll already have some paid or voluntary experience of working in a housing, community or social work environment. You’ll have a desire to assist vulnerable people to maximise their independence and choice, and will have the ability to empower others. Knowledge of housing tenancy issues would be ideal but it’s more important that you’re customer focused and able to cope well in demanding situations.

Due to the nature of the role, you will need access to a car and a full UK driving licence is essential. If successful, you’ll also be required to undergo a DBS check
