A well known Defence contractor requires a Project / Data Assistant to join them on a part time basis (22.5 hours p/w) on a 12 month contract basis in Dorchester.

Purpose of role

To support the Environmental and Geospatial Information Systems (EGIS) Technology Centre (TC) team with their administrative and data management tasks to ensure best and most efficient use of their time to support the business. The support will span all aspects of the EGIS TC business including, project delivery, internal investment projects and bidding as and when required.

This is a support role to a growing and innovative group, comprising several projects and programmes delivering across the UK and internationally. Suitable candidates shall be able to work on their own initiative or as part of a team. Key that the candidate is able to self-organise and self-prioritise - the group is dynamic and diverse.

Suitable candidates will be able to prioritise workloads, be comfortable with multi-tasking accordingly to meet project deadlines.

Suitable candidates will be able to work with a multitude of different people throughout the business from all backgrounds and at all grades.

Key Outputs/Deliverables: Business Unit

1.Ensure Managers are prepared for meetings e.g. room bookings, travel arrangements, etc

2.Ensure team expenses and timesheets are submitted in a timely fashion and in accordance with company policies

3.Ensure documents are correctly configured and tracked in accordance with project records

4.Ensure Import/Export & ITAR logging requirements are adhered to and that records can be reproduced for audit purposes

5.Ad Hoc tasks as required by the management team to support the EGIS TC projects

6.Support the completion of project objectives

Additional Information

This is a part-time role 22.5 hours per week - either 3 full days or 5 half-days or 1 full-day and 4 half-days (to be agreed).

Key Mental/Analytical Skills and Challenges

Good PC skills with a knowledge of MS Outlook and understanding of MS Office suites

IT courses - MS Office proficiency

Key Technical Skills

Proficient IT skills including use of mainstream Microsoft Office programmes

An appreciation of the bid and project lifecycle.
