Work Wales is delighted to work with one of our most reputable companies within their respective industry to recruit a Food technologist

Job Purpose:

To coordinate the product innovation, introduction, regulatory, development and problem solving with suppliers and customers product range. Working as part of the technical and quality team ensuring continuous improvement for the company

Key Roles:

* Maintain good technical knowledge of company's products and their usage.
* Deal with technical/nutritional customer enquiries and assist in pack claim, ingredient and nutritional information.
* In conjunction with suppliers assist with administration/maintenance of company maintain technical databases for company products.
* Subject to maintaining product knowledge, provide advice/documentation in response to information requests generated by consumers and retailers.
* Assist in product/ raw materials re-sourcing activities
* Assist in NPD process identifying trends in markets and regulatory changes to ensure pro-active product life cycle management
* Create and review company's product specifications.
* To compile and maintain product data sheets, assisting export sales for necessary regulatory or license information.
* Obtain relevant documentation to assist with risk assessment supplier checks.
* Other duties to enable effective organization and progression of the department.
* Provide technical knowledge and support to assist in product problem solving

Skills Profile

* Appropriate qualifications and training in a relevant subject e.g. naturopathic/nutritional professional or other equivalent.
* Previous experience of operating in a related technical, quality, customer services or regulatory role.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards affecting food.
* Experience within a busy department and knowledge of FMCG products.
* Computer literate; Microsoft office packages, Sage 1000.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a track record teamwork.
* Demonstrable investigative customer service skills.
* Proven ability to organize and adapt to shifting priorities.
* Ability to work and communicate with inter-disciplinary project teams.
