CAS Behavioural Health is a leading provider of Specialist Adult Services in the UK including; Mental Health, Learning Disability, Acquired Brain Injury, Autism and Personality Disorder. We work in close partnership with the National Health Service and have a real emphasis on intensive psychiatric rehabilitation, providing patients with a step-by-step programme to return to the community or suitable long-term placement.

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our team as a Consultant Learning Disability Psychiatrist at Woodside Hospital – a safe therapeutic hospital service for 9 males who have suffered a recent on-going acute episode in the community. It also complements acute and secure hospital settings by offering assessment, treatment and rehabilitation as part of a robust care pathway offered by CAS Community Care which includes residential and supported living services.

Location: Woodside Hospital, 279 Beacon Road, Wibsey, Bradford, BD6 3DQ

Hours: 24 (flexible shift patterns). Required to participate approximately 1:9 on-call rota for LD hospitals during weekends

Salary: £78k

The Opportunity

As a Consultant Psychiatrist you will be responsible for up to 9 in patients in locked rehabilitation service for patients with mild to moderate learning disability with other comorbid metal disorders. You will be responsible for the clinical supervision of middle grade doctors and auditing the medical services rendered at the hospitals, ensuring their good quality in accordance to GMC and other relevant professional guidelines. You will streamline and manage admissions and discharges for the most efficient use of the beds at the hospital. A key part of this role will also be to liaise with local GP and general hospitals to address and manage inpatients` health most effectively.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate for this role will have recent experience at a senior level in Adult Learning Disability Services. You will be GMC registered, a recognised approved clinician and have MRCPsych or equivalent.

You will have excellent communication skills and ability to lead a multidisciplinary team. Above all, you will be someone with a genuine desire to help others.
