Support Worker (Housing Association)

Chapter 1 is a charity and Registered Social Landlord that provides a range of housing and varied support services to vulnerable people through a dedicated team of staff located throughout England. Our aim is to support people in achieving their full potential. We offer our services to anyone in need respecting their faith, culture and social background. We work in partnership with 29 local authorities and have a growing network of over 50 projects across the UK. 

Position: Support Worker 
Location: Liverpool 
Hours: Full time, 37.5 per week, Part time, 22.5 per week 
Salary: £17,589 p/a (pro rata for part time)

About the role: 

Mildmay House is located in Liverpool and is a hostel, which provides accommodation and support for 48 men who have previously been homeless. Our aim is to assist service users to gain the skills necessary for independent living. 

In this role you will be responsible for managing an assigned caseload contingent on needs, strengths, abilities and preferences of the service user served as well as providing assessment, monitoring, planning, linkage and advocacy for service users involved in the service. 

You will provide a high quality of one to one support in accordance with the aims and objectives of the project, this will include providing advice on housing, health and welfare benefits as well as participating in activities as appropriate. 

You will also work in conjunction with other colleagues and agencies to avod any duplication of the suppor offered to service users. 

About you: 

As the post holder you will need to be creative and innovative and enjoy working in a challenging /changing environment, if this is you and you have experience working with homeless clients and are able to help them develop life skills through a structured programme then we would like to hear from you. The post holder should be an effective communicator both oral and written, maintain accurate record keeping and be able to work independently and as part of a team. 

The role involves working on a rota basis, including weekends and sleep-ins (with an incorporated allowance of £32 for each sleep-over). 

A Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Certificate will be required for these roles.
