Our Client is an International Bank based in London are looking to recruit a Manager, Credit Risk to join their team in London.

Job Purpose:

Independent credit assessment of business proposals (corporate) within specified timelines. The role involves reviewing the business proposals and carrying out independent assessment through secondary research reports (including external rating rationales, equity reports etc). The candidate will need to interact with relationship managers, senior management of client companies while assessing the business and financial profile of the clients. The review of the proposals may also involve cross functional engagement with other groups like internal legal team for structured transactions/ reviewing term sheets. The role also involves engaging with members of ICICI Groups risk team in India and other geographies. The review culminates in assigning an internal credit rating to loan proposals supported by a risk rationale.

Area of Responsibility

* Risk analysis of specific transactions and preparation of rating rationales
* Revert to the corporate business group with queries on the proposal note within prescribed timelines. Ensure major queries are addressed and a rating and a risk rationale has been issued prior to the case being discussed at the relevant committee
* Articulate key credit issues at credit committees. Disseminate key risk issues and relevant recommendations for risk mitigation through 'rating rationales' to the Committee (ECRC & BCC) members.
* Maintain physical and electronic documentation of all proposal related information as per the internal requirements of the Bank
* Review of existing client exposures. Active monitoring of key clients/large exposures and exposures to specific products including periodic performance review of exposures.
* Keep abreast of key news items pertaining to clients especially large and critical clients. Participate in meetings/ visit to client offices/ sites as part of the credit assessment process where necessary
* Monitor irregular activity report and take appropriate action on delayed credits
* Review monthly/quarterly portfolio review reports
* Develop a deep understanding of the sectors and the developments in these sectors to which the Bank has exposure.
* Following laid down processes which may be subject to review by internal and external auditors.
* Assist in reviewing and enhance existing policies in line with the strategy and risk appetite of the Bank. Develop and review frameworks to assess new products/ segments for lending transactions.
* Assist in the development and implementation of robust credit risk management systems, procedures and controls with the objective of identifying, measuring, monitoring and mitigating the key credit risks facing the Bank. Adopt leading risk management best practices followed in the industry to enhance existing processes, procedures and controls
* Monitoring of risk appetite limits set by the Bank including reporting of Key Risk Indicators to the Head of Risk and Senior Management.
* Ensure compliance with prevailing regulatory guidelines applicable to the Bank with respect to credit risk.
* Participate in projects and assignments from time to time as directed by Supervisor
