The Role

As Business Development Consultant, you will have an energetic, enthusiastic and positive outlook.

You must be highly motivated and self-sufficient, taking a consultative approach to selling, whether it's introducing the company to a new prospect or closing a deal.

As Business Development Consultant you should be able to create your own sales leads as well as managing existing client accounts.

This role will involve a combination of a consultative sales approach alongside field based sales and internal sales. You must be confident and able to deal with clients across all levels, with the ability to build and maintain successful working relationships.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be able to consistently hit or exceed your targets month on month and will be rewarded by an excellent commission structure.

Whilst having a sales background is essential, full product training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Ability to identify, generate and qualify leads through market research and selective telephone calling to develop a new business prospect.
Prospect new companies as potential customers.
Work closely with the Marketing Team, in particular during events/exhibitions.
Work with existing clients, constantly developing relationships and explore additional sales opportunities.
Determine suitable IT product/service requirements for each client.
Arrange and attend pre-booked client visits to discuss specific requirements and offer solutions.
Produce client presentations to demonstrate products and services available to them.
Write and produce various reports and proposals/quotes.
Negotiate terms and close the sale.
Manage the client relationship both pre and post-sale.
Communicate effectively with both the in-house technical and admin teams.
Travel throughout the West Midlands on a daily/weekly basis.

Requirements

Must be target driven and self-motivated.
Has excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage your own time and plan your day effectively.
Must be confident and comfortable with presenting products/services to clients.
The ability to determine suitable IT product/service requirements to a business.
A flexible approach - happy assisting other members of the sales and marketing team.
Can write reports and proposals/quotes.
Has experience working with MS Office and is computer literate.
Good at negotiating.
Experience from within an IT sales background (would be beneficial).
Has experience in selling or using ERP systems such as Pegasus or SAP (would be beneficial).
Has experience in selling maintenance contracts (would be beneficial).
Has a keen interest in technology (would be beneficial).
Must have full time access to your own transport.

Benefits

Basic salary £18k - £25k - depending on experience.
Generous Commission structure.
20 days holiday (excluding bank holidays).
Pension.
45p per mile travel expenses (up to 10,000 miles).

Monday: 9am - 5.30pm
Tuesday: 9am - 5.30pm
Wednesday: 8.30am - 5.30pm
Thursday: 9am - 5.30pm
Friday: 9am - 5pm
