Harvey Nash have been engaged exclusively by the University of Hull to source and secure a Chief Technology Officer to centralise technology for the newly established Health Sciences faculty.

The CTO will have a variety of responsibilities within this role, the first being to consolidate technology of the merging faculties in order to centralise policies and processes across the new function. You must utilise the equipment owned by the Faculty of Health Sciences; that means having an understanding of purchasing to ensure it is being used to the best of its ability.

This is a customer facing role, you must have exceptional communication skills, speak with credibility and have the ability to network, negotiate and develop relationships. Given the nature of the role, you must also have credibility with laboratory specialist staff.

Essential skills and experience

* A proven track record of working within a medical/laboratory environment; you must understand the language and have an understanding of this area.
* Leadership skills are essential. Consolidating a number of faculties into one will require time, patience, negotiating skills and most importantly people skills.
* The ability to create a technical strategy - not only creating a roadmap but also have a commercial awareness of how to utilise space and equipment to ensure the best possible outcomes.
* You must have good motivational, team building skills.
* Have an understanding of health & safety policies.
